About me
My name is Karen and I'm in my late 30's. I am married to Colin with two children, Emma, aged 11 and Jack, aged 8 .
We live in Poringland which is about 10 minutes away from Norwich on the south side of Norfolk.
I am a Qualified Chef and worked as such for 15 years, but gave it all up for Childcare!!
I worked seven months as an Assistant Supervisor at Poringland Playgroup for three mornings a week, before moving over to Childminding. I now serve on the Playgroup committee and relief Supervisor.
I became registered as a Childminder in August 2001. I Employ a Registered Assistant called Jo who started in January 2002, and Hayley Who is also a Registered Childminder, in September 2003 due to the extra children I was being asked to take on. Hayley left in 2005 and was replaced with Kathy, a Registered Childminder, who also works at her house in Norwich, close to 'Norwich City College'. Kathy has now retired from childminding.
I started working as a N.V.Q Assessor in June 2007, and started work as an Adult Education Tutor January 2008, Teaching 'Childcare Learning and Development' N.V.Q Level 2 and 3.
I am about to start training for N.V.Q level 4 in Childcare Learning and Development from May 2008.
I am a member of the local Childminders support group, and on the committee of Poringland Playgroup as admissions secretary. see their web site at;

I have been a Guider of a Rainbows Group (Pre-Brownies!) since September 2002, for one evening a week, plus preparation time of course!! See their web site at;
